Why should I buy Lemon Z feminised seeds?

  • Our Lemon Z is made with cup-winning original Lemon 'Z' genetics combined with Lemon Tree. She is rich in terpenes and incredibly tasty. The high potency also ensures powerful effects.
  • Her buds have a lemon-dominant terpene profile, where fresh, sour, and sweet notes alternate, creating a delicious flavour. She has a sativa-dominant plant/bud structure and a thick layer of resin.
  • Lemon Z is a stable and easy-to-grow photoperiod cannabis cultivar with elongated branches and buds. She has an average flowering time of 9 weeks and an XL yield. She is also suitable for any type of grower, even beginners.
  • The effect of our Lemon Z is powerful and long-lasting. The high THC level creates a strong, energetic, uplifting and relaxing high that's also perfect for daytime use, or in the evening if you want to stay awake.

Lemon Z has a pungent aroma and a refreshing taste. The aroma is a fresh, sour with a sweet mix of lemon, lime and piney notes. The taste is usually fresh and tart, but there are also phenotypes that are slightly sweeter & more woody

Lemon Z is a sticky, resin-covered cannabis seed variety with a very fresh and fruity terpene profile. This USA cannabis strain is based on our classic Lemon ‘Z*******’’ (AKA our Original ‘Z’) genetics and is an upgrade to improve the stability and flowering time of the strain. So this is a new cross - but with the same delicious, sweet, sour, citrus-dominant terpene profile. The combination of the Lemon Skunk with the original Z (Z*******’) and Lemon Tree genetics gives this strain an excellent flavour profile as well as high potency. The extremely high THC percentage averages around 20%, but can even reach higher in many cases.

Pinene, myrcene, and limonene are the three most dominant terpenes in this strain, giving Lemon Z a pleasantly energetic high. The mix of fruity and spicy terpenes also provides a refreshing flavour. Fruity notes of lemon alternate with fresher, sometimes woody and earthy notes of eucalyptus and pine. Expect relatively compact, sativa-dominant buds with a thick layer of resin and a pungent and inviting terpene profile. This is a strain to savour!

Lemon Z is a sticky and potent cannabis strain with a pungent, citrus-dominant aroma and flavour.

Lemon Z is known for her very fruity citrus aroma and flavour. During the creation of this feminised seed variety, the terpene profile was the most important characteristic to preserve. Furthermore, she can produce very heavy yields. Besides the abundant terpenes, the trichomes are also packed with cannabinoids. The THC levels fall into the very high category, with some extremes. Around 20% is usually average, and in some cases, it can be higher.

Do you love the intense flavour of lemon, lime, and dried citrus fruit? Then this strain is perfect for you!

What genetics are in Lemon Z?

Lemon Z from Dutch Passion is an old friend, but with a new look! Our big winner of the HighLife Cup in 2018 (1st prize Best Sativa, known as Lemon Z*******’  in those days, which became Lemon Kix after a copyright dispute) and overall prize winner (1st place) of the highly sought after ‘HighLife trophy with the big ears’ for Best Weed Overall.

These prize winning citrus genetics have been further developed and stabilised over recent years. By adding the powerful Lemon Tree genetics to the new cross, this feminised weed seed variety has become more stable and a little faster in terms of flowering time. But still with the high yield and that classic fruity, lemon-rich and penetrating terpene profile that our original Lemon ‘Z*******’ was known for.

The genetic line of our Lemon Z strain is a cross of a Las Vegas Lemon Skunk x the original Z which was crossed with Lemon Tree at a later stage. A combination of Lemon Sativa genetics with a dash of Lemon Indica genes makes for a powerful strain with real ‘hybrid vigour’ and a nice, solid layer of resin!

Lemon Z is an easy-to-grow sativa-dominant hybrid with high potency, very resinous buds, and a large XL yield.

Lemon Z is an easy cannabis strain to cultivate. Although primarily sativa-dominant in appearance and growth pattern, she has a clear dose of indica genetics. This makes her easy to manage when it comes to nutrient dosage. This lady can certainly take a beating. She's also suitable for any type of cultivation - whether it's soil, coco, or hydroponics.

Her more-open growth structure, with elongated branches and thin leaves, makes her ideal for SCROG cultivation or for growers who prefer LST or HST growing techniques. She's exceptionally easy to manipulate and train. During the flowering phase, she has a substantial stretch period, but this is certainly not extreme. She remains easily manageable at all times. Approximately 2-3 weeks into bloom Lemon Z continues to grow. During this period, trichome production also begins, and you'll see a beautiful white sheen develop on the leaves. The buds develop white hairs. A week later, enter the grow room and a powerful, penetrating lemon aroma greets you!

During weeks 4 & 5 of bloom, she truly begins to smell wonderfully, you'll see the buds swell and become increasingly white. The buds have relatively short internodal distances and grow beautifully dense. Lemon Z may develop foxtails towards the end of flowering; this is quite normal for this genetic line. Foxtails, where one calyx grows on top of a lower one, are sometimes known as a second internodal bloom. This is caused by plants trying to maximise bud production in combination with a certain genetic background. It also often results in airier buds that can better withstand higher temperatures and humidity.

Lemon Z is an average-sized plant with a very high yield. Therefore, the strain has been given an XL rating. This strain produces long, full blooms that can be quite heavy.

The genetics used for Lemon Z guarantee the following properties:

  • A potent, terpene-rich USA hybrid with beautiful, compact, sativa-dominant buds and a thick layer of resin.
  • Lemon Z is a pungent, high-yielding cannabis seed variety with a fresh, fruity, lemon-dominant aroma and flavour. If you enjoy dried citrus fruit, this strain is perfect for you.
  • This feminised Lemon Z genetic line is easy to grow and thrives in all growing styles and conditions, even for beginners.

Lemon Z is an indoor cannabis strain, but she also thrives in greenhouses and outdoors, though primarily in warmer (and preferably drier) regions.

Effects of Lemon Z

The high of Lemon Z is powerful and long-lasting, the high potency and refined terpene profile makes for an extremely relaxing and enjoyable high. The high is typically a mix of both mental and physical effects with the mental component (the "head high”) usually dominating. For most users, this strain feels uplifting and energising. But thanks to her small amount of Indica genetics, she never becomes too trippy or racy. This is a truly enjoyable hybrid high that energises yet relaxes at the same time. The relaxed feeling of the high is partly due to the introduction of Indica genetics from Lemon Tree. The strong lemony terpene profile, combined with the woodier and earthier notes of this strain complements the new hybrid and elevates the overall experience.

Due to the very high THC levels, typically around 20%, this feminised marijuana seed variety is suitable for experienced users. For beginning growers/smokers, we recommend consuming this strain in moderation. But whatever you do, savour the delicious lemon-dominant aroma and flavour to the fullest!

The Flowering Time of Lemon Z

Lemon Z has an average flowering time of about 9 weeks. In rare cases, you'll find a faster phenotype that's ready to harvest after about 8 weeks. However, the flowering time is usually around 63-65 days. If conditions are far from optimal, this can increase to about 70 days (10 weeks) from the start of the 12/12 indoor light cycle. More foxtails may also develop, further extending bloom. Given the sativa-dominant appearance, she finishes flowering relatively quickly.

Outdoors, the flowering time is roughly the same, around 63-65 days. But the precise timing depends on the exact location/latitude where she is grown. Near the equator, where daylight hours average between 12 and 13 hours per day, she will automatically start flowering as soon as she's placed outdoors. You can harvest her about 9-10 weeks later. In a temperate climate in the Northern Hemisphere, she will be ready around early to late October, depending on the climatic conditions of the growing location. She grows best outdoors in a warm, dry, and sunny Mediterranean climate, but this doesn't mean she can't be grown outdoors in other climates. It just requires a little more attention and care.

Lemon Z yield

Lemon Z has a very high XL yield with an average-to-long stretch period. Most stretching occurs during the first two weeks after the light cycle is set to 12/12, with a slightly slower stretch in the third week. During this third week you will see the first white pistils appear and the plants will develop an increasingly strong aroma. These plants have a relatively stretched, open Sativa structure of average height. She remains very manageable.

When grown indoors in a controlled environment by an experienced grower, Lemon Z yields of approximately 500-550g per m² are possible. Outdoors, in open ground or as a single plant in a very large pot, a yield of approximately 500-750g is possible. Depending on the climate and the size of the pot, the yield will range from a few hundred grams to a kilogram. It's not the highest yield, but the quality makes growing this strain more than worth it. Highly experienced growers will achieve even higher yields with the right products and cultivation methods.

Advice from our experts:

Lemon Z is a very easy Sativa-dominant cannabis seed variety to grow. She performs well in all types of cultivation methods and conditions. She can even handle a SOG setup. However, she is ideally suited for the expert SCROG grower. If you enjoy tying, scrogging, snapping, and bending plants, then Lemon Z is the perfect strain. Prefer a SOG setup with more plants per square meter? That's possible; the only recommendation is to keep the vegetative growth period short.

As the flowering phase progresses, it's best to provide some support for the blooms. This is because the buds grow together very nicely, often forming long top-heavy blooms. You can provide support with a support net or yo-yos. Stakes and twine will also work well. When growing in a SOG (Sea of Green) setup, it's recommended to place stakes alongside the main stem and, if necessary, use a plant ring (as used in tomato cultivation, for example).

Lemon Z Information:

The most important reason for upgrading the Lemon 'Original Z' genetics was to utilise and further develop our cannabis cup-winning Lemon Z genetics (formerly known as Lemon Z*******’). With this new cross, we've achieved a similarly fruity and lemon-dominant aroma and flavour, but with improved stability and a shorter flowering time - making her worthwhile for all types of growers.
