THC and CBD are the most well known cannabinoids and are widely available. Over recent years dozens of other naturally occurring cannabinoids have been identified such as CBC, THCV, CBDV, CBG and many others. Science has already discovered beneficial properties for some of these. But for most cannabinoids many of the properties are still unknown. Dutch Passion are creating new cultivars with high levels of these new cannabinoids. Once these are available in stable seed form, science can research their full medical and recreational potential. Over the next decade Dutch Passion expect to launch several stable and productive cannabis varieties rich in one (or several) of these new cannabinoids.

What are special cannabinoid strains seeds?
Special cannabinoid strains are those rich in cannabinoids other than THC and CBD. These strains have been carefully bred to be rich in new, novel cannabinoids such as CBDV, THCV CBG etc. You can buy autoflowering seeds or photoperiod feminised seeds of special cannabinoid strains. These seeds will grow in the normal way under all the usual conditions, grow lights and grow systems.
Buy cannabis seeds rich in THCV, CBG, CBDV,...
Interest in seeds of special cannabinoid cannabis strains has never been higher. Medical growers are particularly interested in the properties of these novel and special cannabinoids, so are pharmaceutical companies who are curious about potential medical/pharmaceutical applications.
Dutch Passion offer cannabis seeds of some of the first commercially available cannabis strains rich in special cannabinoids such as THCV, CBG, CBDV etc. These autoflowering and feminised special cannabinoid cannabis seeds are now available to buy from the Dutch Passion website.
THCV-rich cannabis seeds
THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin) is one of the new cannabinoids that Dutch Passion are pleased to offer in the form of THC-Victory feminised seeds. Early medical research into THCV has been to investigate the effects of appetite suppression and possible applications to reduce blood sugar.
THC-Victory is a feminised photoperiod strain containing around 6-8% THCV and 6-8% THC. This gives an approximate 1:1 ratio of THC:THCV. Because THC is present there is some level of psycho-activity to THC-Victory, giving it a medium strength potency. THCV, however, isn’t a psycho-active cannabinoid.
THC-Victory has reasonable/large yields, but isn't regarded as an XL yielding strain. She is a sativa variety that takes around 11 weeks to complete bloom. THC-Victory is a medium sized variety and may be slow during early vegetative growth. After the 3rd internode she picks up speed and growth vigour. The terpenes lean towards the citrus side of the spectrum.
CBG-rich cannabis seeds
CBG (Cannabigerol) is often regarded as the ‘mother’ cannabinoid since it is the starting point from which other cannabinoids are made. This makes CBG particularly interesting to medical growers as well as breeders. Unlike THC, CBG has no psychoactive effects. CBG has also received very little medical research. This means that currently there is limited data for future possible medical applications.
CBG-Force is a photoperiod feminised seed variety which produces plants with up to 15% CBG in the dry buds. THC levels are below 0.2% meaning that there is no psychoactive high from CBG-Force. Yields are heavy and bloom time is around 7 weeks. Apart from the high CBG levels there are two other unusual features with CBG-Force. Firstly, the aroma is much milder than a typical cannabis strain. Perhaps this suggests that terpenes are somehow related to the production of other cannabinoids such as THC? Secondly, CBG-Force buds are not particularly sticky despite the frosty coating of trichomes.
Auto CBG-Force allows you to grow your own CBG rich buds with the speed and convenience of autoflower seeds. She grows from seed to harvest in around 12 weeks. Auto CBG-Force is suitable for indoor cultivation, greenhouse/polytunnel or even outdoor growing. CBG levels are up to 15% and THC levels average just 0.04%. Plants tend to be around medium height and grow well under a variety of conditions.
CBDV-rich cannabis seeds
CBDV (Cannabidivarin) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid which is closely related to CBD. CBDV has shown anti-convulsant properties in mice and rats, it is of increasing interest to medical cannabis researchers.
Auto CBD-Victory has around 4-6% CBDV in the dried buds alongside a similar level of CBD. It is a 1:1 CBD:CBDV strain. THC levels are below 0.3% meaning that you can’t experience a psychoactive high from this strain. CBD-Victory is 75% sativa, 25% indica and takes around 10 weeks to grow from autoflower seed to harvest. She is straightforward to grow with hints of pine and woody aromas. Like all Dutch Passion autoflower strains, CBD-Victory grows well indoors under 20 hours of daily light. She can also be grown outdoors.
Cannabis and cannabinoids research
The two most commonly discussed cannabinoids are THC and CBD. However pharmaceutical companies and medical growers are curious to know more about the potential medical properties of the other 100 or so cannabinoids present in cannabis. Many of these have received very little research/attention until now.
Dutch Passion have a core competence in the development of cannabis strains rich in previously ‘minor’ cannabinoids. As well as pioneering CBD seeds in the 2010’s, Dutch Passion are now pioneering the first cannabis strains rich in novel cannabinoids. Dutch Passion were the first to release feminised cannabis seeds in the 1990’s, Dutch Passion are also the first to release cannabis seeds which will grow into plants rich in CBG, THCV and CBDV.
Future breeding work for new special cannabinoids will include investigations into THCP (Tetrahydrocannabiphorol) and CBC (Cannabichromene) rich strains. For many years, most people could only know the names of two cannabinoids, THC and CBD.
With Dutch Passion’s formal commitment to creating new special cannabinoid strains, you can expect to see many more new cannabinoids becoming available in the coming years. It will be exciting to see what medical science makes of them. You can be among the first to buy and grow special cannabinoids seeds!
