CBG-Force lab-test results and smoke report

When Dutch Passion enlarged its Special Cannabinoid collection with CBG-Force, and her autoflowering sibling Auto CBG-Force, these were the world's first CBG rich cannabis seeds available from a professional seedbank. While the research goes on about the full spectrum of likely uses for CBG rich cannabis, the independent grower and cannabis enthusiast Cannatorium kindly provided us with an insightful review coupled with an analytical lab test arranged on his own to evaluate the levels of CBG, THC, CBC and other cannabinoids. Here are the full results along with a special smoke review.
CBG-Force independent lab-test results with 9% CBG
It’s the first time Dutch Passion have seen a private home grower organise their own lab testing of their buds. But as lab testing becomes increasingly available, we suspect it won't be the last! Cannatorium is a quality focussed grower interested in growing the best, and most interesting, cannabis genetics.
The lab analysis was performed twice for superior accuracy, with the average cannabinoid levels shown below. Cannatorium’s buds showed CBG levels of around 9%, as expected. Just like THC, which is mostly present in the dry buds as THC-A, so CBG is mostly present as the CBG-A form. CBG-A converts to CBG during the process of vaping/smoking.
One other interesting feature from the analysis was the presence of CBC (Cannabichromene) at a level of 0.35%, this cannabinoid is attracting a lot of medical attention. THC levels were 0.18%. At these very low THC levels there is not the classical ‘high’ that you will experience with traditional cannabis strains.
This makes CBG-Force (or Auto CBG-Force) suitable for those that want to experience the medical effects without a psychoactive high. The terpene profile for CBG-Force is impressive with Beta Myrcene, Limonene, Beta Caryophyllene and Alpha Bisabolol often dominating the analysis. As Cannatorium reports below, the nose-appeal from CBG-Force is excellent.
CBG-Force customer smoke report by Cannatorium
Cannatorium gives his personal review of the CBG buds, he also provided some CBG buds to Dutch Passion for a second opinion. CBG-Force are part of the Dutch Passion Special Cannabinoid seed collection. One interesting piece of feedback from other growers of low-THC strains has been how they ‘break’ the craving for both tobacco and high-THC cannabis whilst providing a gentle, soothing experience for the user.
Cannatorium smoke report
Cannatorium was impressed with the delicate aroma from CBG-Force. Like other CBG growers he reported feeling a somewhat ‘sharper’ mental focus and at the same time a chilled sense of relaxation.
“While opening jar, I get smell of dried tangerine peel, pine and fine wood.
Simply amazing for low THC strains. The taste while smoking is not pungent or strong, you get piney and a slight tangy taste that is very good.”
“High: this is low THC below 0.2 so you can't get high, but it improves focus and you feel a bit of body relaxation and lower amount of daily stress.
Overall: one of the best low THC cultivars which is legal in most countries.”
Dutch Passion’s CBG-Force smoke review
Together with the TerpInspectors crew, Dutch Passion had the chance to try the CBG buds from Cannatorium. Here are the main effects reported following our own smoke review session.
“We got the opportunity to review some CBG-Force flowers, these have a high CBG content. It's really interesting to try buds that are focused on cannabinoids that are not particularly common.
We still remember how the first CBD-only buds smelled and tasted like, or should I say not tasted like. There were a lot of hay and grass smells that were dominant in these early CBD buds. Fortunately, we have seen huge increases in the quality of CBD buds over the past few years. These CBG-Force buds had a slight sweet and herbal smell, pretty nice for a strain that is still in development!
After a smooth hit from the vaporiser, it was clearly noticeable that there is no THC content in these buds. A lab test confirmed this assumption! After around 15 minutes I started to notice a nice relaxing effect throughout my body which was quite pleasant. Additionally, I was able to focus a lot better than normal. My mind was more focussed on the task in hand rather than shifting around like normal. A great strain to get some work done!
This was a very cool opportunity to review this special cannabinoid strain that is still in development. We hope to enjoy more CBG flowers in the future.”
Dutch Passion also made a previous CBG smoke report which will be interesting reading for anyone considering growing this variety.
Dutch Passion’s CBG-Force cannabis seeds
The name CBG-Force describes the forceful growth of these CBG-rich cannabis seeds.
CBG-Force has one strange feature, despite the buds being covered with trichomes they are not at all sticky - a strange experience when you first examine your nuggets!
CBG is regarded as the ‘mother cannabinoid’, from which most other cannabinoids are derived. As such she attracts a great deal of interest from both medical growers as well as breeders.
CBG oil is becoming available as these genetics attract increasing attention, especially from medical growers. Pharmaceutical research is underway looking at the numerous potential uses of CBG, but no firm medical applications for CBG have yet been announced. But with such high levels of medical interest, there should be much more to report soon.
