Ortega Indica was a classic old school Indica from Dutch Passion, bred from one of Neville’s Northern Lights #1 and a potent Ortega landrace from the late 1970’s. This old-school OG indica combo delivered a distinctive, penetrating aroma profile of earthy, spicy and tobacco-like notes.

Ortega Indica plants exhibited the classical Indica characteristics. They had a compact, dwarf-like stature with bushy growth and consistency across the phenotypes. Plants were short and manageable, making them ideal for indoor setups - or greenhouses in temperate climates.

Flowering was finished in 8-10 weeks with dense, resinous buds and a medium yield. THC is estimated to have been 15-20% (lab testing was not always possible in the early days).

Ortega Indica was most fondly remembered by medical (and recreational) growers who loved the strongly sedating physical effects. Very chilled, happy and stoned.

Ortega Indica also helped promote good sleep and users often reported a completely clean, clear-headed feel the following morning. Back in the day, Ortega Indica was widely considered Dutch Passion’s first true ‘medical’ variety.
