Frisian Duck. Naturally disguised cannabis from Dutch Passion with camouflaged stealth leaves
Frisian Duck is one of Dutch Passions most unusual feminized photoperiod cannabis seed varieties. The webbed leaves are a stabilized natural deformity, when you look at this unique variety you would find it hard to identify it as cannabis. Frisian Duck is a great outdoor and greenhouse cannabis variety. Until late bloom when the buds are getting fat, this really doesn't look like any marijuana variety that you have grown before. The Dutch Passion team were pleased to win the prestigious Soft Secrets ‘Plant of the Year’ award in 2016 for the Frisian Duck breeding program.
Frisian Duck was created by selectively and carefully hybridising the Dutch Passion outdoor champion Frisian Dew with some gene bank cultivars of an unusual tropical variety called Ducksfoot. Ducksfoot was a genetic anomaly, she grow well in tropical regions but not outside, and the leaves were webbed. Without the characteristic cannabis leaf shape people would walk right past the plant and not realise it was cannabis.
Frisian Duck. An easy cannabis variety for outdoor growing
Frisian Duck is a feminized photoperiod variety. In the northern hemisphere Frisian Duck is usually planted outdoors (or in greenhouses) in April/May and harvested at the start of October. In the southern hemisphere Frisian Duck is usually planted outdoors in October/November and is harvested around the start of April.
Frisian Duck - camouflaged stealth leaf shape makes it easier to grow cannabis without it being recognised
Frisian Duck is a great choice for urban cannabis growers that want a cannabis variety which is easier to hide than traditional varieties. Until the last 6 weeks of her life (when she is in full bloom), Frisian Duck doesn't look like cannabis. For the majority of her life, Frisian Duck simply looks like any other garden plant. Outdoors, you would walk straight past her and not give her a second glance. Frisian Duck disguises herself naturally for most of her life. The buds form quickly at the end of her life cycle, this is a low odor variety, she will hide in the corner of your garden/greenhouse without alerting your neighbours.
Many urban marijuana growers will grow a plant or two in the corner of their garden, patio, roof terrace or back yard. For these growers, Frisian Duck offers the advantage of being unrecognisable for the majority of her life. You only need worry about her appearance for the last few weeks when the buds are large.
Frisian Duck and Auto Duck. Marijuana designed for outdoor growing
Many people plant a few cannabis plants in the countryside each spring. River banks, unused field corners, forest clearings, waste land, unused urban land, road side ditches and many other places are frequently used to grow cannabis. Frisian Duck is the perfect choice for a stealthy urban grow, even experienced cannabis growers would struggle to identify it as cannabis.
For most people, the easiest way to identify a cannabis plant is the unmistakable leaf shape. Once that leaf shape changes slightly, many people simply no longer identify Frisian Duck as cannabis. Around half the plants have purple/blue coloration, the rest of the plants are green. Harvest quantities are above average for an outdoor variety.
Frisian Duck grows into a large, Xmas-tree style shape. But she can be trained and tied down with LST training if you need to restrict her hight. Normally she reaches around 2 metres tall and can produce several hundred grams of dried buds per plant, but if she has her growing tip cut off she will grow into a short bushy plant. Many people grow Frisian Duck in poly tunnels or greenhouses, where she is protected from the worst of the weather.
As well as the photoperiod version of Frisian Duck, there is also an autoflowering version called Auto Duck. Auto Duck is smaller, and lower yielding than Frisian Duck, but she grows from seed to harvest in around 90 days outdoors meaning she will grow in any climate no matter how short the growing season. This blog shows a Scandinavian grower getting a successful Auto Duck crop in Denmark. The Duck genetics are tough and easy to grow.
Frisian Duck (and Auto Duck) will grow indoors like normal cannabis varieties, but the naturally disguised leaf shape is designed and best suited to outdoor growing where it will confuse all who study the leaf shape. Many people think the leaves look more like mint or nettles than cannabis.
Photoperiod Frisian Duck is also very easy to clone and take cuttings from. Its a mold and pest resistant variety that has been designed to make life easier and simpler for the self sufficient urban cannabis grower. And Frisian Duck is a remarkably easy cannabis variety to grow, first time cannabis growers have got great results with no previous growing experience.
If you are looking for a reliable, proven outdoor cannabis variety that looks like no other, then Frisian Duck is for you. The natural disguise from the stealth leaves mean that even you will struggle to believe that this is cannabis. It gives you extra reassurance and confidence to grow a few outdoor plants.
