Best cannabis seed reviews of January 2025

Grow Diaries indoor cannabis grow contest winners
The first 3 diaries were all winners from the Grow Diaries indoor grow contest. The highly sought after Melonade Rutz & Auto Melonade Runtz lines feature along with the classic Skywalker Haze.
#1 Melonade Runtz by Weedig_Weedigson
Two Melonade Runtz plants were grown indoors in a small grow area under a 190W SANlight EVO 3-80 and grown to perfection by Weedig_Weedigson.
They were given a 4-week period of veg growth and 8 weeks of bloom and received a 10/10 rating from the grower. Grown in coco (11litres / 2 gal) with Plagron nutrients. Cannabis low stress training (LST), was used along with defoliation.
The final claimed yield was 49.9g, miraculously just 0.1g below the legal limit in Germany! The plants were well cared for, and benefitted from a 20W supplemental UV light in bloom. UV is often used by the more experienced, quality-focussed growers to really juice up the trichome loading.
Congratulations to Weedig_Weedigson on some of the most resinous plants seen so far in 2025! Here are a few comments from the grower:
“Super resinous so far and smell fantastic. The 2 plants are very different but soaked in resin... smell incredibly great. Big plants. But they smell very different. One is more biscuit-like, earthy. The other is more in the tropical biscuit direction. Super lemony, super sticky. One of the most resinous beasts I have ever had. Both smell like melon/citrus/sweet. These 2 vapes are the "winners" in the grow so far. Everything just fits! Scent, growth, this exaggerated resin! Wow! From the trim leftovers I will make a nice portion of BHO.”
#2 Auto Melonade Runtz by CanarianGrow92
Auto Melonade Runtz is the autoflower seed version of Melonade Runtz (featured above). CanarianGrow92 grew three plants in 11-12 weeks with a heavy yield in 7 litre (1.5 gal) containers of soil.
The plants stretched 2-3 times in height during early bloom. They were grown under 18 hours of daily indoor light from autoflower seed to harvest using 240W of custom LEDs with a 10/10 strain rating from the grower. The plants were grown naturally with no training.
“Perfect strain to grow, easy, fast and sweet as sugar totally covered in trichomes. The plants showed very steady and stable genetics and are very generous with little care. This strain is almost like walking directly into a Dutch candy shop with all kinds of wine-gum smells, simply perfect. Very happy with this strain, easy grow and generous buds covered in THC!”
#3 Skywalker Haze by IndiCat

Skywalker Haze is a photoperiod feminised cannabis seed variety. She was grown by IndiCat with a 2 week vegetative growth period and a 10 week indoor cannabis bloom phase. Some cannabis defoliation was done during the grow.
Despite being grown in only 2 litres / 0.5gal of soil, Skywalker Haze still produced 44g/1.5oz of premium dried Haze buds with beautiful dark hues and a 10/10 strain rating from the grower!
The perfect choice for anyone seeking an old-school Haze with powerful, fully loaded effects.

Grow Diaries outdoor cannabis grow contest winners
The following grows were all winners from the recent outdoor grow contest on the Grow Diaries forum using Dutch Passion cannabis seeds.
#1 Auto Euforia by SkunkyDog
SkunkyDog gave a 10/10 rating to Auto Euforia, a repeat best-seller with outdoor growers ever since she was introduced. Grown outdoors in Germany she produced an impressive 79g/2.8oz of pungently skunky buds. The total grow cycle from autoflower seed to harvest was 13 weeks.
“I'm very impressed by the plant. The high is strong and it really cheers you up when you want to do what you don't really know what ? ? ?. But the smell is the best thing about this strain. It stinks a bit and there is also a really sweet scent. I had no problems with mold or anything else. The perfect outdoor variety. I will grow them again next year and I still have a seed. Can only recommend the variety to anyone who wants to grow outdoors. Thanks to Dutch Passion for the great seeds.”
Auto Euforia is a high-THC autoflower strain grown both indoors and outdoors. Guerrilla growers find her to be exceptionally mould resistant & tolerant to poor outdoor weather.

#2 Auto Critical Orange Punch by Mo_Powers
Auto Critical Orange Punch is a budget priced autoflower seed variety that delivers a high THC knockout punch alongside deliciously tangy citrus and unusually rich hashy notes.
Mo_Powers grew her outdoors in a small 3 litre container over a difficult German 2024 summer and still yielded 13g (½ oz) of quality buds that received top marks.
“After a bumpy start, she performed very well. She grew well in her 3L airpot. The outdoor grow in Germany was not so easy this year - very changeable and too few sunny days. But I was able to harvest her because she had no diseases or issues. I am very satisfied with the grow. 55 grams wet weight (13g dry) is not that much, but for a 3-litre pot it's still pretty good.”
#3 Passion #1 by birdmountain
Cannabis cup winning outdoor champ Passion #1 is a reliable high quality photoperiod outdoor cannabis seed variety. Two plants were grown outdoors in Germany in 2024 in 26 litre (6gal) soil containers.
Birdmountain grew his Passion #1’s (a native Californian Indica) in a polytunnel. Despite some mould the grow went well, with both plants reaching around 1.6m / 5.2ft tall. Birdmountain commented that some extra air-movement in the poly tunnel and some defoliation may have helped. But each plant went on to yield 100g / 3.5oz with a 10/10 strain rating from the grower.
“This is a variety with explosive growth and yield if the environment is right. The poly tunnel would have been perfect with a fan. So, the (still) air was immediately noticeable. I will try the cultivation again, with improved/adjusted conditions. The fragrance during the flowering period is pleasant and not penetrating. It smelled spicy, lemony, and like herbs. The trimming was quick, as the buds could be cut quite large. Both plants were only sown in early June and grew without problems. Only with continuous rain and still air did they develop mould in the flowers. If I had defoliated them in the poly tunnel earlier, the mould might not have occurred. I will definitely test it on the next try. Otherwise, they had no insect infestation or sickness. Thanks to Dutch Passion for the seeds!”
