Auto Ultimate is one of the heaviest yielding autoflower strains ever released. In order to produce the notoriously heavy harvests she can take a couple of weeks longer that the average auto to complete her life cycle. In this week’s grow, @OldFish 13 grew a multi-bloomed plant indoors under LED with a 13-week life cycle using 20 hours of daily light.
Auto Ultimate is known for a powerfully relaxing effect, popular with both medical and recreational growers. She helps neutralise anxiety and has a fresh citrus aroma with earthy/pine notes. @OldFish13 produced a spectacular looking Auto Ultimate with numerous generously sized trademark blooms. Each sparkled with resin. The grower was impressed with the ease-of-growth as well as the yield and made the following remarks:
- “I would say that this strain has such strong stress resistance and has an incredible yield for an autoflower […] I would recommend this strain to every newbie or an experienced grower.”
The 240W LED allowed great light coverage/penetration. This in combination with a well-managed hydroponics grow system enabled rapid growth with all the bloom points fattening up well. These XXL yielding Auto Ultimate genetics can allow growers of all skill levels a chance to break their personal best auto yield records. Durban Poison is a landrace sativa strain from South Africa. She’s famous for her euphoric, energising sativa high. These original THC rich genetics have been a cornerstone parent variety for some modern heavyweights such as Girl Scout Cookies (Durban Poison x OG Kush).
@viriato0811 enjoyed the Durban Poison grow and got some superb results. Heavy yields combined with vivid orange/red hues in the buds and received the following remarks from the grower:
- “This smell is more pungent this week. I really like the unexpected red color of the buds. These buds are getting fatter by the day […] Branches are bending as flowers are getting a lot of weight.”
- “Super easy strain if you have enough space in your growing room. Loved the color of the flowers. Had to harvest 1 week earlier than expected as I started to see some bananas in some of the flowers. Harvest will be around 300g of dried flower.”
The Durban Poison was grown in coco fibre/perlite with Canna Coco nutrients. This included Cannazym, CalMag supplement and Rhizotonic. The LED had a 300W power draw which produced some great looking buds in the 1.2m x 1.2m tent.
The blooms produced some rich autumnal colours and a penetrating aroma. Durban Poison seeds are a great choice for any fan of original sativa dominant strains that wants to combine Grade-A bag appeal with heavy yields and serious potency.

With a 10/10 rating, Night Queen got full marks by @Freedomganja. Night Queen suits fans of old-school strains wanting a hardcore, knock-out indica experience. The strong physical effects also suit medical growers.
These photoperiod feminised seeds take around 8 weeks in bloom and produce dense, frosty buds with a pleasing pungency and mind-numbing potency. Like many original indica strains this cannabis cup winning Afghani is easy to grow across a range of conditions.
- “Very good variety, I definitely recommend. Resistant to fungi and pests.”
- “It makes your job very easy, great for a beginner. Yield was surprising.”
- “Beautiful hard buds. Strong aromatic scent.”
The Night Queen was grown in coco fibre with a 600W HPS light. Stretch is limited with these genetics, expect compact bushy plants. Growth throughout was steady with no unusual surprises. Some low stress training was done around week 5 to maintain a level canopy and some defoliation was done a month before harvest.
Despite some spider mites appearing towards the end of the grow there was little for @Freedomganja to worry about. Night Queen finished with a fine display of solid, resinous blooms. If you love an uncomplicated indica grow then Night Queen is the perfect choice and will deliver extremely potent results.
