Best cannabis seed reviews of April 2022

Here are three recently published reviews of some classic cannabis cup winning strains - Durban Poison, Frisian Dew and Glueberry OG. Durban Poison by @WeedWhisperer

Durban Poison enjoys a legendary reputation which she fully deserves. The epically enjoyable sativa buzz gives her a cult following of repeat growers. The dry harvest was over 5 ounces, but the grower was most impressed with the premium quality Durban Poison high.

Many growers rate Durban Poison as the most enjoyable strain for relaxing and unwinding. THC levels can be around 20% in good grow conditions. Not all cannabis genetics can produce Grade-A bud quality in outdoor conditions, but @WeedWhisperer couldn't have been more impressed with the potency.

@WeedWhisperer grew his Durban Poison outdoors in a large soil container. The plant was manually watered and given BioBizz nutrients. Durban Poison can produce very large outdoor plants in good conditions, so to keep her height manageable she was topped after 5-6 weeks and given some LST (low stress training) at week 9. Some branches were tied down to improve sunlight penetration. Durban Poison is a proven performer both indoors and outdoors, handling the training like a champ and going on to deliver a heavy harvest of killer buds.

Frisian Dew by @growing_patagonia

@growing_patagonia grew a Frisian Dew outdoor cannabis seed in a large container of coco fibre with added perlite/vermiculite. The plant had some indoor light from a 400W HID during veg and then benefitted from some outdoor Patagonian sunshine on a terrace during bloom.

The combination of cannabis cup winning Frisian Dew genetics with a great grow environment allowed @growing_patagonia to produce a great quality crop which received a 10/10 rating. It wasn’t just the overall quality which impressed the grower, Frisian Dew also coped well with the outdoor weather, bugs and pests like a pro delivering strong praise from the grower.

Nutrients from Namaste and CannaBioGen were used and a dry harvest of just under 5 ounces (140g) was produced. Outdoor growers can experience issues with mold, bud-rot and other typical outdoor challenges. But Frisian Dew has been selectively bred outdoors over numerous seasons in the often-cloudy Dutch summers. This gives excellent natural genetic robustness for outdoor growers. Any outdoor cannabis growers looking for a solid, reliable top-shelf outdoor strain will find Frisian Dew one of the very best available.

Glueberry O.G. by @AlexJekomust

With cannabis cup winning parent genetics from Gorilla Glue x Blueberry x OG Kush you would be right to expect seriously strong cannabis and heavy harvests! @AlexJekomust gave Glueberry OG a maximum 10/10 rating. His 8-ounce (220g+) harvest filled several jars and the quality/potency received full marks too. The grow was uneventful, with no issues, difficulties or complications. The proven genetics have a wide growing latitude, making her highly suitable for less experienced growers seeking a pro-quality crop with THC levels around 20%.

The Glueberry OG plants were grown indoors in small containers of soil. Watering was done manually, and Advanced Nutrients were used throughout. 10-12 weeks after cannabis seed germination the plants were defoliated, improving light penetration to lower bloom sites. The final blooms were chunky.

After 10 weeks of bloom the Glueberry OG plants were harvested, though some of the pistils (hairs) still appeared white and could have delivered even heavier yields with an extra week or two of bloom. But there were no complaints from the grower and the 10/10 strain rating was one of many awarded to Glueberry OG by members of the Grow Diaries forums.
