UK. Former Home Secretary 'regrets' taking hard line on cannabis users
UK. Former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has joined the ranks of politicians that now regret taking a ‘hard line’ against cannabis. As usual, this change of heart has come around after she has left office, rather than during her term in Government.
"I'm more sympathetic now to the argument that there are people who use cannabis without harm," she said. "I don't want tough messages being sent out by the law always translated into tough action against individuals."
