Spain. Alicante legalizes cannabis social clubs
More good news for European cannabis lovers, Alicante has legalized cannabis social clubs (‘CSC’) for use by adult members. The Alicante social clubs will work on a non-profit basis, the cannabis will be produced by the club for distribution to members. Under 18’s will not be allowed to join and all adult members will have to register. Alicante is one of Spain's largest cities, second in size only to Valencia in the Valencian region of Spain. Spanish cannabis campaigners see this as a big step forward in the normalisation of the use of cannabis. Spain’s use of cannabis social clubs has dramatically reduced criminal involvement in the production and distribution of cannabis, and other Spanish cities will continue to implement their own CSC laws.
