Russia. Gold bongs used by ancient stoners dug up by archaeologists
Russian. Workmen laying power cables have dug up an unusual cannabis find. Archaeologists have identified the solid gold container and pipework as cannabis bongs and dated them at 2400 years old. Chemical analysis of the charred black residues showed the bongs had been used to smoke cannabis.
Presumably, the solid gold bongs were owned by high ranking stoner officials and are described as 'extremely rare finds', possible from Scythian tribesmen. Although the finding of cannabis seeds and paraphenalia is far from unique in archaeology, the solid gold bongs found here show an unusual level of craftmanship. Clearly these ancient people placed a very high value on their cannabis relxation time.
