Spain. Grower 'will have to be compensated' for the 214 cannabis plants illegally taken by the police

In a remarkable ruling from the Madrid courts, a grower that had 214 plants confiscated by the police will have to be compensated by the state for his loss.  That's because the Judge ruled that the grower, whose grow is connected to a cannabis social club, had not broken any laws.  Furthermore, the Police also took 10 high quality mother plants from the social club grow, who are now seeking combined compensation of around €24,000 for the loss of plants.

The grower had specifically asked the police to ensure that the cannabis plants were not damaged, and that the valuable crop should be dried properly so that it could be returned to him.  This did not happen, and with the Judges ruling in his favour, the Police will have the embarrassment of compensating the grower.

Its a landmark ruling which will cause the Police to think carefully in future before raiding grows connected to cannabis social clubs.  More details are here https://translate.google.nl/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fpolitica.elpais.com%2Fpolitica%2F2017%2F02%2F13%2Factualidad%2F1487020156_913420.html%3Fid_externo_rsoc%3DFB_CC&edit-text=&act=url
