Important milestone ahead - FDA could approve the first marijuana prescription drug since about 25 years
USA: GW Pharma, the world’s leading company for medical marijuana preparations, has asked the American FDA (Food and Drug Administration) to approve their “Sativex” cannabis spray, making its pharmacy distribution possible in the USA. GW Pharma hopes that the FDA will approve Sativex by the end of 2013. Experts would consider a respective approval by the FDA a milestone, as that institution hasn’t been approving cannabis-based medicines for about 25 years.
